Nathan Lawrence
Nathan has been nominated to begin his first 3-year term after completing a previous member’s term.
Born and raised in Texas, Nathan is a 6th generation Texan who grew up in Houston and has always felt at home in the outdoors along a flowing stream.
Nathan grew up duck hunting along the Trinity River, deer hunting along the North Llano River, and swinging from rope swings along the Buffalo Bayou.
Nathan started college at U of H, eventually changing course to study animal husbandry and range management science here in San Marcos in 2001.
Nathan has his Arborist Certification and has worn several hats working for Texas State University facilities, but currently serves as the Director of Grounds Recycling and Waste Management.
While attending Texas State, Nathan was heavily involved in horticulture and sustainability organizations, which laid the foundation for his interest in service to local nonprofits.
Nathan is a co-founder of the Eyes of the San Marcos River, which has proven to be an incredible partner to SMRF and provides an invaluable service to the San Marcos River watershed.
