DETAILS:
The
festive annual SMRF membership meeting and party will be
held on Saturday, February 18 at the Price
Center at 222 West San
Antonio St. in San Marcos.
No ticket is required. Members
usually pay their dues each year at
this event for the coming year. It is very important for members to
attend
since there is a quorum requirement in our bylaws for the annual
meeting and
election.
Gather
starting at 5:30 for happy hour, review displays of the auction
items, and please bid in the silent auction. Cool
Mint Restaurant will provide appetizers. The delicious
dinner buffet
cooked by SMRF volunteers is served at 6. There will be
vegetarian items
in the meal, too, and desserts baked by members are welcomed to add to
the
buffet.
At
about 7:15 the crowd gathers in the auditorium when awards
are given, a brief election of board members happens, a summary of the
year is
given, and member suggestions are encouraged. As the meeting
closes,
members are given a little more time to put in final bids on the silent
auction.
Auction bids are closed
about 8:30. If members don’t stay to the end to claim their
auction items
they are called the following week, and items are delivered to them, or
perhaps
pickup and payment is arranged.

All
will be on display at the event Feb. 18.

realize that additional and final
bids
will be taken the night of Feb.18.
